When in Rome...[Day 3]

Eric and I were super excited for this day. We were going to spend hours doing a nerd tour at the Roman Forum and the surrounding ruins.

This was 5 hours of walking around looking at incredibly old, awesome things with an audio guide and a map.

We used the word nerd-gasmic more than once. Way more.

I won't bore you with too many pictures/stories. But I am going to put up a few, because they are AWESOME!!

Temple of Saturn. Built in 497 BC. No big deal.

My own Basilica!!

Just chillin' with some ruins.

Eric loves him some Arch of Titus. And his audio guide [we seriously walked around with that thing to our ears for hours...lookin' cool]

Looking down on the ruins

Nerds!

More Colosseum

From there we went out for a fabulously Italian lunch

Caprese, Salads, Meat and Cheese Plate, Wine, and then Espresso [oh I'm all about the Mediterranean Diet, I love it]. Such a great lunch
Then it was time from me to head to the airport and Eric to head back to Milan.

I took a flight that night to London Gatwick, making into town with just 16 seconds to spare to get on the last tube from Victoria station to Daniel's place. It was scary close!!

When we got back to Daniel's, it was time to pack and get ready for Ireland [it was now 1am and we had to leave his place at 6am].

But the best part of the night was when Daniel gave me my birthday present!! [yes, my birthday is in June...]

Gator socks!!!!! I am OBSESSED with them!!

Next up...Cork and Killarney!!
